My Hero Your Enemy: Historical Narratives in National Identity Building in the CEE and SEE Region
The aim of the project is to provide space for identification of processes shaping historical knowledge in the V4 and SEE region. Through sharing experience in the V4 region, the event aims to discuss the impact of historical experiences towards searching for understanding of historical processes within bilateral dynamics of the SEE region. National mythologies built on the key events of the 20th century still have significant impact on the dynamic of bilateral as well as regional relations in the SEE region. Learning from the past experience with other bilateral and regional disputes and agreements such as the Visegrad collaboration is an important contribution for better understanding of processes in the region and creating space for mutual understanding.
Project is implemented with support of the International Visegrad Fund (Feb - Dec 2024)
Roads Not Taken: Municipality of Ohrid Going Green, Smart, Innovative (OHRID GO)
The project focuses on the rehabilitation of the area of the former military barracks in Ohrid, transforming it into a recreational and technological zone. This ambitious project is a collaborative effort between the Municipality of Ohrid and Stellar Solutions Skopje, a start-up company based in Skopje with strong local ties to Ohrid. The project aims to re-invent this area by establishing Kasarna Hub as a central networking space for the local digital economy, entrepreneurs, and individuals with innovative ideas. The envisioned outcome includes setting up an adrenaline park and a pump-up track, refurbishing one of the old ruined buildings into a restaurant, and ultimately, growing the area into a fully-fledged ICT village over the next decade. The project is funded by the framework EU4Municipalities.
